After
the death of Ali Adil Shah II, Sikandar Adil
Shah was crowned the new King, At the age of
five by the help of Khawas Khan. The other Amirs,
Ministers
dis loyal to the King minor.
The Kingdom was un protected by Mughal King
Auragzeb on outside front and frequent attacks
from Shivaji A Maratha Warrior King.
In additions to this there were mutual differences
and conflicts. The Kingdom was thus gripped
by fear and ruine.
Shivaji Seazed this chance and captured some
of the Bijapur Forts. In 1083 Hijri Shivaji
and Bahlul Khan of Bijapur fought in whihc Behlul
Khan emerged as victorious.
Khwas Khan made an alliance with Aurangzeb by
promising to give the keys of Bijapur Kingdom.
He also promosed to engage the sister of Ali
Adil Shah II to the son of Aurangzeb. Due to
all this Aurangzeb confered the title of Sultan
on Sikanadar Adil
Shah.
